Root is an African lion and a No-Mane who used to be a member of Fire's No-Mane band.
He debuted in Episode 4.

- Root is described as lovable, supportive, enthusiastic, unwise, sluggish, and lazy. Although this is confirmed on Twitter, he does not show any of this behavior in the show itself, given that he only briefly appeared.

- Root has a very dark, almost black gray pelt pelt with a slightly darker shade on his inner-ears and nosebridge. He has a tri-colored mane with a darker shade below, paler shade above, and medium shade in the middle. He also has curly bangs which obscure his orange eyes. Along with Proud and Meadow, he is one of the larger No-Manes of the group.[1]

- Root is seen talking to his brother right before Nothing is introduced to the group. He is then seen watching Fire introduce his sister and cousin to his band.[1]
