Karabi, or Karabi the Terrible, was an African lioness, and an ancient chosen leader of the Storm Kingdom. She was the last known leader of the Storm Kingdom before it fell.
Karabi was chosen by Cansu to lead the Storm Kingdom. While deemed responsible for Kyoga's abduction and supposedly starting a war between the Sun and Storm Kingdoms, she and the chosen leader of the Moon Kingdom, Kyoga, fell in love, and the two ran away. Lite, refusing to believe that his soon to be mate would run away on the day the Sun and Moon Kingdom come together to finally make peace, started the war between the Sun and Storm Kingdoms.
He accused Karabi of kidnapping Kyoga, and carnage ensued. Karabi agreed to meet Lite with Kyoga at the highest point in the Emerald Valley, where she harshly tells him to stay back and that they only came there to talk. When Lite stepped too close, Karabi reacted defensively and pinned him to the ground. Although she intended to kill Lite, citing that she and Kyoga would never find peace with him around, she was ultimately stopped by Kyoga. However, Lite lunged at her throat and killed her after being let go, fearing she she would kill him some time later. This act causes Kyoga, after being possessed by the Goddess Asra, to place an everlasting curse on Lite, and she disappeared with Karabi’s corpse soon afterward.
When Lite recounted the tale of the transpiring events, Karabi was villainized by him. Known as “Karabi the Terrible”, she was painted as a cruel and jealous lioness who kidnapped and later murdered Kyoga in cold blood. Lite then said that he and Karabi had an intense battle which lasted for days, but that Lite ultimately persevered due to having the ‘power of love’ on his side. To this day, Prides believe her to be one of the most heinous lionesses in history, responsible for the broken kingdoms and the instillation of Pride Law.
Personality[]
Karabi was portrayed by the legends to be a cruel and vain lioness, but in reality, she was kind and caring. She is rather bold in her opinions and is quick to act. Her kindness and willingness to not hurt Lite ended up being her downfall.

- Karabi was a purple-gray lioness with bright green eyes and a gray underbelly, paws and muzzle. She also had gray eyelids along with a swirl-shaped marking branching out from each of her lower eye rims. She had dark purple-brown tufted, pointy ears, as well as a tuft of fur on top of her head. She is also shown with a snaggletooth, as well as a dark purple-brown tail tip.[1]

Episode One: No-Mane[]
- Sharptongue tells the story of Lite and Kyoga to her three grandchildren. She tells them that Lite and Kyoga eagerly awaited their bonding day, but Kyoga was kidnapped by Karabi just before the ceremony. Later, Nothing continues telling the story to her father and says that Karabi had killed Kyoga and explains how Karabi and Lite battled for days, but Lite won with the power love, killing the lioness and creating Prides and Pride Law.[3]
Episode Eight: Rain[]
- Karabi has been revealed to be Kyoga's mate and convinced her that she doesn't have to be married to Lite. The two run away together and when Lite finds out about this, he believes that Karabi kidnapped Kyoga and wages war between the Sun Kingdom and the Storm Kingdom. To end the violence, Kyoga and Karabi agree to meet Lite at the highest point in the valley. Ignoring Karabi's warning that he shouldn't get close, Lite got too close when he tried to talk with Kyoga, prompting Karabi to pounce on him. She was was about to kill him until Kyoga stopped her. When Lite got up, he ended up slicing Karabi's throat with his claws, causing her death. Kyoga then placed a curse on Lite and vanished with her mate's corpse.[1]

- Kyoga was Karabi’s mate and they were deeply in love. Karabi was willing to protect Kyoga from Lite with her life and she couldn’t stand seeing Kyoga upset when she attacked her friend. She ended up dying beside Kyoga, leaving her mate devastated.[1]

- Their former relationship is unknown as they weren’t mentioned to have interacted with each other very much. However, once he found out about Karabi and Kyoga, Lite started killing lions to find his bride, causing Karabi to believe he was insane. Karabi tried to kill him, but Lite ended up killing her after she spared his life.[1]

- Karabi’s relationship with Kyoga was the true reason behind Lite's decision to make homosexual partnerships forbidden among prides as he was jealous of Kyoga's relationship with Karabi.
- Although it's theorized that she might have been reincarnated as Hover, it is not confirmed if Karabi was also reincarnated alongside Kyoga and Lite.
