Summary[]

The episode starts of with Nothing and Feather near a pride’s territory in the tall-grass stalking an impala. They talk out a strategy. They then surround the gazelle, and Feather scares the gazelle towards Nothing, but instead Fire jumps out and kills it instead. Nothing and Fire catch up, talking about how Proud drove her out. Fire mentions that he was attacked by Quickmane, who gave him a scar on his shoulder. Proud showed up from Quickmane's blind side and they started fighting, while Tangle helped Fire escape. After that, it was just the two of them. Nothing asks where Tangle is, but Fire replies that he didn't make it.

Fire later explains that he's had his eye on this pride he thinks it would be perfect for him. However, their mane is a lot bigger than him, so he asks for Nothing and Feather's help to conquer the pride. He also says that, once he's mane, he will give his sister a proper pride name. Feather and Nothing walk away for a bit and he says that he doesn't agree with the idea of Fire changing Nothing's name. When she asks why, he explains that her name doesn't mean "worthless" anymore. It means brave and strong. It means what she is afraid of. Which is nothing.

Later, when Fire attacks Barkmane, Nothing starts to remember the fight between Starmane and Quickmane. When her brother cries for her help, she's completely frozen in shock and realizes that Barkmane's attack is a complete parallel to her Father's death. Feather shows up and attacks Barkmane, which allows Fire to leap onto him and kill him. Fire gets furious at Nothing for not helping him, and yells at her. Then, they go talk to his new pride.

Fire reveals to the pride that he has killed Barkmane and claims that his name is now "Firemane", but the Hunt Chief, Moonstrike, says she won't accept him as Mane unless he kills Feather, since he's not his bloodline. Fire stumbles over his words to explain that Feather is barely a cub anymore, to which Moonstrike responds that he is a rival. She tells him again to kill Feather, or to leave the pride.
