Detailed Summary[]

Nothing and Feather are sleeping under a dead tree on the Prideless Stretch, when it begins raining. Nothing excitedly points it out to Feather, who groans in response that he's trying to sleep. Cansu, towering over them, tells Nothing to let him sleep.
History Cansu appearance

Cansu towering over Feather and Nothing

Nothing looks up at the Goddess, shocked, and Cansu playfully tells her to get up. Nothing stutters her name in disbelief, and Cansu, now back as Rain, reminds her that she told them to just call her Rain.
As Rain leads Nothing to an unknown location, Nothing asks her why she didn't tell her and Feather that she was a Goddess. She simply responds that she doesn't usually volunteer that kind of information, then steps onto a giant rock on the Stretch, stopping to tell Nothing that they reached their destination. Nothing, confused, points out that they're still on the Prideless Stretch.
Rain tells her to close her eyes, and begins telling her of the ancient kingdoms, from thousands of seasons ago. How, instead of Prides, all lions belonged to one of the kingdoms, and explains that although each kingdom had their own territories, they all lived in a sacred place called the Emerald Valley.
When Nothing opens her eyes again, she finds herself amazed, surrounded by a lush, green forest. She turns to Rain and asks her how she got them there, but Rain urgently tells her to follow her, and Nothing complies.
Approaching some bushes surrounding a clearing in the Valley, Rain tells her that this was where she was born. In front of them is a group of lions, all relaxing, playing, or chatting. Nothing asks if they can see them, to which Rain responds that it's just a memory.
History Kyoga and Lite cubs

Kyoga and Lite playing

Nothing, confused, insists that it isn't her memory, as she was born at the Sisters Steppe. Rain continues, however, and explains that she was called Kyoga, and that the cub she's playing with in the clearing is Lite. Nothing doubts her, and asks if she's talking about Kyoga and Lite from the legends, to which Rain confirms, telling her that they were both chosen by their Goddesses to be leaders of their kingdoms, and that they were promised to each other as mates.
Nothing then asks the Goddess why they're there, as she already knows the story. Rain corrects that she actually doesn't know the story, and tells her to follow her further.
As it shifts to night time, they approach yet another clearing, where Lite and Kyoga are now adults. Kyoga worryingly shares her thoughts with Lite about not being ready to lead, as she's never even set foot outside the wider territories. Lite assures her that there's no way any of them could feel ready for it, as it's a huge responsibility.
Kyoga chuckles that he isn't helping, but Lite interrupts that he isn't finished, and goes on to say that it's gonna be alright, that they were born for it and that Goddesses don't make mistakes. He adds that as long as they have each other, that's all they need. Kyoga reluctantly agrees, and Lite says that he's going to go rest. Kyoga tells him that she'll join him soon, and looks up at the night sky.
Rain explains that although she liked Lite just fine, something else was missing. Nothing questions what there possibly could be missing, as it's one of the most famous love stories in history. From the bushes, Karabi asks if Lite is gone, to which Kyoga confirms.
History Karabi and Kyoga nuzzle

Kyoga and Karabi nuzzling

Karabi lovingly nuzzles her, playfully telling her not to make her stay away so long next time, as she won't survive. Kyoga apologizes, then frowns as she draws away from her, then says that she doesn't want Lite to have suspiciouns of them.
Nothing, in disbelief, asks if the dark lioness is Karabi the Terrible, pointing out that they seem like friends, or maybe even more than that. Rain adds that Kyoga cared for Lite, but that Karabi was the only lion she truly loved.
Karabi mentions how she doesn't understand why Kyoha doesn't just tell Lite about their relationship, asking what she'll do on their joining day. Kyoga says that she'll go through with it, as it's important for their kingdoms that they lead together. Karabi asks if that means they won't be together anymore after that, and Kyoga exclaims that she doesn't want it to be, as she loves her.
Bitter, Karabi points out the contradicting nature of her words, that she says she loves her, but that she doesn't want anyone to know about them. Kyoga argues that she needs the alliance with the Sun Kingdom, asking what she's supposed to do as she doesn't have a choice.
Karabi tells her that she wasn't born to serve a purpose, but born to live a life, going on to question what she wants for herself, not what Lite or her kingdom wants. Rain gets Nothing to follow her once more, following her to Lite's voice, where he angrily asks where Kyoga is.
Wolfmane tells him that they've searched the Valley, but that no one's seen her. Lite commands them to look again, as she could've been killed or kidnapped. Precisecharge enters the scene in a rush, with news of Kyoga. She explains that Kyoga and Karabi left together, and that Kyoga sent her to tell Lite that she's safe and that he shouldn't worry. Lite asks what Precisecharge means by Kyoga leaving with Karabi, and she reluctantly tells Lite that she means to join with Karabi rather than him.
History Lite and Precisecharge

Lite after yelling at Precisecharge

In denial, Lite accuses her of lying, choosing to believe that she was kidnapped instead. Precisecharge attempts to correct him, but gets yelled at instead, and is then asked where Kyoga and Karabi went. Precisecharge cowers, telling him that they didn't say. Lite then says that it doesn't matter, that he'll find them.
Rain leads her to a huge carnage of lions, and Nothing gasps in horror. Rain explains that Lite started a war between the Sun and the Storm Kingdom, accusing Karabi of kidnapping his bride and demanding retribution. She explains how it resulted in a carnage never seen before or since.
Rain then leads her to the highest point in the Valley, where the Shifting Place is located, telling her about how Karabi and Kyoga agreed to meet Lite there. Karabi stands in front of Kyoga, defending her from Lite as he approaches them. Lite tells Karabi to bring back his bride, but Karabi growls for him to stay back, reminding him that they only came there to talk.
Kyoga desperately attempts to get Lite to stop the war, that she can't give him what he wants. Lite insists that it isn't true, and that Kyoga loved him. Kyoga corrects him that she loved him dearly, but as nothing more than a friend, going on to tell him that she did what she had to do to be happy, pleading to let them live in peace.
Lite refuses, as he loves her and believes that there's no peace without Kyoga. Kyoga looks away, and Lite approaches them, angering Karabi as she told him to stay back. Karabi jumps at Lite, pinning him down and pressing her paw hard on his throat whilst choking him.
History Karabi attacks Lite

Karabi attacking Lite

Kyoga yells at Karabi to stop, but Karabi argues that he's a monster. She says that he'll keep hunting them as long as he's alive, that she has to end it herself. Kyoga pleads for Karabi not to kill him, acknowledging that he's done horrible things, but that he was her friend, and that she won't be able to bare seeing her kill him. She asks her to let him go for her, and Karabi hesitantly complies, making it clear that it's only for Kyoga.
She approaches Kyoga and nuzzles her, who thanks her for letting him go. Kyoga tries to go on to apologize to Lite, but the enraged lion furiously jumps towards Karabi and slashes her throat. Kyoga exclaims her name in horror, dropping to her side and repeatedly apologizing, begging her to hold on.
Lite tries to excuse his attack, calling her crazy as he insists she was gonna kill him, and that he had to strike first. Kyoga turns around and looks at him, ominously telling him that Asra may take her, but that he will never win.
History Asra possesses Kyoga

Asra possessing Kyoga

The moon disappears from the night sky, and the world goes gray. Asra possesses Kyoga's body, and grows huge as she curses Lite's soul to an eternity of suffering, that Kyoga's soul will be his death in every life. She goes on to disappear, taking Karabi's body with her.
Nothing says that nothing of what she told her played out like it did in the stories, and Rain explains that it's because Lite was the only one left to tell the story, and that after the kingdoms fell, he created Pride Law out of his hate and fear. Rain tells her about how when Sunce rose in the morning, she was furious of Asra interfering with the lives of the mortals, setting the whole of the Emerald Valley ablaze, that not even her rain was enough to save it.
She tells Nothing that Sunce has been angry ever since then, and that Asra has been missing as well, telling Nothing when she asks who collects the spirits, that they're all trapped on earth until she returns. She asks Nothing to help her end the cycle, as she is Kyoga, and that in order to end the cycle, she must help her find Asra.
Nothing insists that she isn't Kyoga or a legend, and that she's just Nothing. Rain tells her that she can either believe that and do nothing, or help her fix a broken world. Nothing agrees to help, asking what she needs to do.
She tells Nothing to find Asra in the Shifting Place, and make Sunce and Asra reconcile. Nothing points out that she wouldn't know where to start looking, but Rain reassures her that it'll come to her. However, she recognizes that Asra won't leave the Shifting Place if she knows it's to see her sisters, and that it's under curse to shift if she or Sunce get too close, so keeping the conversation between the two of them would be for the best.
Nothing asks if Rain wants her to trick a Goddess, however Rain corrects her that she merely wants her to nudge her in the right direction, as she needs it. Nothing doubts her ability to do that at all, but Rain calmly tells her that she knows that she'll do the right thing when the time comes. Nothing wakes up again under the dead tree beside Feather, thinking that it's all a dream and going back to sleep.
